Sammy Lam joined the board of Cheng & Cheng Limited in January 2013. He graduated from the University of Toronto and obtained Bachelor of Arts with major in Commerce and Actuarial Science in 1984.
Sammy has over 30 years of experience in auditing, accounting, taxation and secretarial. He started his career with Price Waterhouse (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers) before migrating to Canada in 1988. During his working in Canada, he became a member of Certified Management Accountants of Ontario and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. After he returned in 1994, he joined a local medium-sized professional accounting firm, H. C. Watt & Company (now known as H. C. Watt & Company Limited) as audit manager and became a director in 2009 up to 31 December 2012.
With substantial experience in industry of property development, shipping and hospitality, he was in charge of engagement team of audit of several main board listed companies (including Blue Chip companies) in Hong Kong. He was also an Engagement Director of the audit of a listed company. He was involved in the audit of a large group of companies in Macau including one of which was a highest tax payer in Macau.
