Katherine graduated with honours degree in accountancy and certified as an accountant in Hong Kong. She joined Cheng & Cheng as Tax Assistant Accountant in year 2012 and was promoted to Senior Tax Manager in year 2023.
Katherine has extensive experience in taxation practice in Hong Kong. She offers tax compliance and advisory services to multinational organizations (MNCs), Chinese Foreign Invested Enterprises (FIEs), local listed groups as well as private companies from a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, trading, retail, financial services, energy, commodities, logistic, medical, properties and lands investments.
Katherine and her team are specifically assigned in engagements involving tax investigations, field audits and taxation disputes. She is experienced in carrying out in-depth review on information provided by the client for well preparation of the initial interview with the Tax Investigation officers, which is the key to a satisfactory and timely settlement of the case. She works independently and represents client from preparation of the initial interview, provision of answers to the queries raised by the Assessor to negotiation of a basis of settlement that is acceptable by all parties.
In addition, Katherine has rich experience in handling sophisticated tax issues in Hong Kong, corporate and individual tax planning, group restructuring, cross-border tax issues and transfer pricing review. She is also conversant with assisting clients in dealing with various applications to the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department including application for certificate of resident status and tax exemption claims.
